As children walk down the path of life, they have many things happening to them. First, they are growing up and it seems at times walking on a path of their own away from you. This path can lead to many places and it is up to their parents to help guide them, and provide them with tools to get though life and eternity. Children may not think of eternity, but our soul is eternal and our body is just temporary. This is where a Church family is very important; they can be there as a source for children to go to and let them know there are more people out there with the same beliefs. Second, the path they walk can be a very wide one with all kinds of choices of false happiness. They may seem to bring happiness at a time but it fades. The narrow path is the path to Christ and the children, including adults, need help to stay on this path. The Holy Spirit, parents and the Church family are who we need to seek to help us stay on the narrow path. When we are able to stay on the narrow path and make it to the end we inherit eternity with God.
When looking at a picture of children looking away or walking away these are the thoughts that go through my head. Pictures like the one seen here leave the viewer to infer some depth of meaning. They can symbolize the children walking the paths described above or maybe even just walking into their future. I recently came across a picture of my parents at the beach; they were facing the ocean and I took the picture from behind. In this case I think of it kind of in reverse, they where looking into the horizon and to me it looks like they could be looking back over there past. Any of these kinds of pictures just distract me and make me think about what they are thinking when they are looking away.
